EDITORS NOTE: This is an article about the first major Earth Day Celebration that occurred in New York City on April 22, 1970. Celebrating Earth Day, and trying to find ways to use resources that don’t make less pollution isn’t something we have a problem with. What we do have a problem with is left-leaning groups using Earth Day and other environmental initiatives to advance their political and social agendas. Unfortunately these political goals intertwined themselves with environmentalism early on, and now they are impossible to separate.
