EDITORS NOTE: This article discusses a Alliance of Island Nations coming together to discuss a way to use diplomacy and the United Nations to lobby larger nations to reduce greenhouse gasses, prevent the polar ice caps from melting and preventing the island nations from beeing flooded over. This event happened in 1992, and 25 years later, greenhouse gasses have increased, and not a single island has been lost to rising sea levels (Since the 1970's scientists have been monitoring over 700 islands and atolls, and not a single one has been lost to climate change related flooding, in fact 86% remained the same or increased in size.A Global Assessment of Atoll Island Platform Changes A Global Assessment of Atoll Island Platform Changes). The Maldives is a very low-lying island, which makes it very susceptible to tidal flooding and storm surges, but it’s not being lost to rising sea levels. In the 1960’s the population of the Maldives was approximately 90,000, in 2020 the population was 600,000, if the island was truly losing ground due to the sea level, would the population have increased 600% (see chart below).
So why is is the United Nations making Climate Change Predictions? The United Nations sees climate change as a tool to help them achieve their political goals, and to help them become a centralized global government. See United Nations Agenda 2030 also known as The Sustainable Development Agenda is detailed plan to solve some of the worlds biggest problems, especially those caused by climate change. It's real goal is to trick people into surrendering their Rights and Freedoms and accept being ruled by a tyrannical centralized global government, in this case the United Nations.
